5 Essentials To Pack For A Great Cabin Getaway
A cabin getaway at Laurel Fork Rustic Retreat is the perfect way to escape the stress of everyday life. You’ll enjoy the true peace and quiet that is abundant in the forest along with some quality time to yourself or with those you bring along with you.
So grab a bag and check out these 5 essentials to pack for a great cabin getaway:
1. Food, Food, & More Food
It’s no surprise that we all tend to eat more while we are on vacation. To make meals not only healthier, but also cost effective, all of the cabins at Laurel Fork Rustic Retreat have full kitchens with plenty of opportunities to cook up your favorite foods. Most cabins are also equipped with a dishwasher, making clean up a breeze.
Pack enough grub for your crew to enjoy during your stay and don’t forget to include some easy, tasty desserts too! Forget something? Don’t worry, as there are grocery stores located in nearby Jamestown, Tennessee.
2. Seasonal Clothing
While our cabins are rented during every season of the year, you may be surprised at the cooler temperatures in the winter and the humid climate during the summer. We recommend packing enough clothes to keep you comfortable.
Our fall, winter, and even spring guests should pack a light to heavy jacket as temperatures can be cool in the early morning or underneath the stars. We also recommend wearing long pants when hiking the many trails of the area to protect the skin. Summer guests should plan on staying cool with warm season clothing. Don’t forget to pack a swimsuit if your cabin has a hot tub too!
3. Proper Footwear
Many cabin guests choose to pack a good pair of hiking boots to explore, but you can also bring tennis shoes. Making sure that you have the proper footwear that won’t limit your time outside is important. Even if the forecast is beautiful, consider bringing a backup pair of shoes (and an extra pair of dry socks) that do well in wet conditions just in case.
4. Toiletries
Each cabin is equipped with a starter amount of toiletries including toilet paper, paper towels, hand soap, dish soap, shampoo, body wash, and trash bags. This gets your stay started off right so you aren’t scrambling when you first arrive. However, we recommend that you do bring your own toiletries to use once the starter amount has been depleted. Don’t forget to bring detergent if your cabin has a washer/dryer as well!
5. Beach Towels
After a long day of hiking, horseback riding, or ATV riding, nothing is better than returning to your cabin and enjoying a soothing soak in a hot tub. Reserve one of these cabins with a hot tub, bring your beach towel, and get ready to enjoy a relaxing soak underneath the stars for the ultimate cabin stay. Don’t worry about bringing bath towels as your linens are furnished!
We understand that packing can be stressful. Packing these essentials will lift the burden and allow your focus to stay on relaxing and refreshing. Still have questions? Check out our Frequently Asked Questions to put your mind at ease about your upcoming vacation.
